RAINWATER, EZRA PAUL
Ezra Paul Rainwater, a Wilmore businessman and community leader, died yesterday at his home at 204 Linden Street. He was 75. Mr. Rainwater, the father of Wilmore Mayor Harold Rainwater, had operated Rainwater Shoe Service, a shoe repair business, since 1950. He was also worked for the federal prison system for a long time and had been a Jessamine County deputy sheriff and Wilmore police officer.

RARICK, MARY LYNN
Mrs. Mary Lynn Rarick died Saturday, June 12, 1915, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Dickerson, after a long illness. Mrs. Rarick was born in Nicholasville in 1878 and lived here all of her life. The deceased possessed many lovable traits of character, which enabled her to bear her long illness with great fortitude and patience. In 1899, she was married to E. S. Rarick, who, with her parents and two daughters, Lucille and Phil Rarick, of Nicholasville, and three brothers, Dr. L. B. Dickerson, of Clearwater, Fla.; Julian Dickerson, deputy county clerk, and Woodson Dickerson, who at present is in Paris, France, and three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Shaw, of Bartletsville, Okla.; Mrs. Scott Mathews and Miss Reba Dickerson, of Nicholasville, survive. Funeral services were held from the residence of her parents, Monday at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. O. B. Crockett. (rest of obit unreadable)

Eugene R. Reed, 84, of Nicholasville, the husband of Ruby Lewis Reed, died Dec 2, 2000 at the Thomson-Hood VA in Wilmore. A native of Jessamine Co. he was the son of the late John and Bertha Guyn Reed. He was a WWII vet and a member of the Nicholasville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife and 2 sons, the Rev. Don Reed of Paris, Eugene R. Reed, Jr., of Nicholasville and a sister Shirley Rogers of Nicholasville; 2 Grandchildren: Donna Kaye Reed, Susan Gail Reed; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Dec 5 at Hager and Cundiff and burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers were Robert Thompson, Bert Jones, Russell Weddle, Phil Hurst, Roger Garrison and Cliff Brown. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

John T. Reed, former operator of Reed’s Garage in Nicholasville, died Tuesday at his home at Route 1, Wilmore. He was 78. Reed operated the car repair business on Broadway for about 45 years. He retired in 1972.

REYNOLDS, TIMANDRA
Died, at Lampassas, Texas, Jan. 3, 1910, Mrs. Timandra Reynolds, who left Jessamine County for Texas thirty-five years ago. She was aged eighty years and was the mother of Rev. Tom Reynolds, a Methodist minister and aunt of Mrs. Emma Reynolds Miller of this city and Mrs. Thomas Horine of Sulphur Well. The remains were expected to arrive here last night. Deceased was the widow of John M. Reynolds, for many years a resident of Sulphur Well.

REYNOLDS, THOS. I
Thos. I. Reynolds died at his home in Nicholasville, Saturday, April 24, 1909, from a complicaton of diseases, aged 30. He was a son of Levi Reynolds, a plumber by trade, and an industrious and honorable young man. He is survived by his father, wife and two small children and four brothers. Funeral services were held at the late home on Mulberry street, Rev. E.B. Hill officiating. The remains were taken in charge by the Modern Woodmen of the World, of which the deceased was a member, and interred in Maple Grove Cemetery.

RHINEHIMER, WILLIAM
William Rhinehimer, 81, died May 16. He was a retired farmer and was born in Nicholasville, the son of the late Martin and Callie Wilham Rhinehimer. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.

The Rev. James Henry Riley, 80, the husband of Sophia Bates Riley of South Main Street, died Jan. 12, 2001 at the Kentucky Veterans Center. He was a former pastor of New Life United Pentecostal Church from 1979 until his retirement in 1996. He was a former member of the Jessamine County Ministerial Association. He held many positions in the Kentucky District of the United Pentecostal Church, Inc. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, James “Lee” Riley and Steven P. Riley, both of Lexington, and Joseph Keith Riley and his wife, Mae, of Nicholasville; two daughters, Juda E. Kelly and her husband, Jim, and Amy D. Steward and her husband, James, of Nicholasville; nine grandchildren, Teresa Pietosi, Clyde “Rusty” Zoph, Christi Hall, Patrick Riley, Jenny Riley, Zachary Smith, Natalie Cabbage, DeAnn Steward, Joshua Steward, and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alma Hartford of Port Arthur, Texas, and Mattie Lee Jones of Livingston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Anna Coston of Carmi, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Bates of Evansville, Ind. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Life United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Ben Stamper officiating. Burial followed in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Buanna Dean Roberts, 86, of 402 South Third Street, widow of Clyde G Roberts, died Monday (June 1991) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Elva Kemp Dean and a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include two children, Mrs Pauline McMurtry, Lebanon, and Herbert Roberts, Jessamine County; three sisters, Mattie Roberts, Florida, Geneva Harvey and Edna Blakeman, both of Nicholasville; a brother, James Harvey Dean, Lexington; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday at the Guyn, Kurtz, Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home. Rev. Don A Morris, officiated. Burial followed at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Mattie Ann “Patsy” Roberts, 84, of 333 Ely's Branch Road, Owingsville, Ky, passed from this life Saturday, Feb 27, 1999 after a long illness. A native of Garrard County and a long time resident of Jessamine County, she was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Cecil Roberts, her son Carl Lester Roberts, her parents Harvey Albert and Elva Bell Kemp Dean, five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include a sister, Geneva Dean Harvey, Nicholasville; one brother, James Harvey Dean, Lexington; several nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law; three step-grandsons and three step-great grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 11:00 a.m. at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Brother John Steele officiating with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Vernon Cecil Roberts, 74, husband of Mattie Dean (Patsy) Roberts, of 120 West Brown, died Thursday (October 1988) at Central Baptist Hospital. He was a native of Jessamine County and a son of the late Herbert and Nancy Dean Roberts. He was a retired employee of Carey Construction. Other survivors include a son, Carl Lester Roberts, Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Clyde Roberts, Nicholasville; three grandchildren, John Frazier, Jim Frazier and Jeff Frazier. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am Monday at the Guyn, Kurtz, Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev Scott Bullock officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vernon (Buddy) Teater, Dick Herbolich, Richard Beasley, Donnie Carter, Herb Roberts and Norman Belcher. Honorary bearers were John Frazier, Earl Lowrey and James Harvey Dean. ROBINSON, INFANT SON
The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Robinson, died (June 6, 1924) at his home at Logana, of meningitis. The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Kuykendall, and the body was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery. The sympathy of the community goes out to the young parents in the loss of their precious babe.

Myrtle English Robinson, 92, widow of Clarence R. Robinson, formerly of Nicholasville, died Oct. 30 (1996) at Sayre Christian Village Nursing Home in Lexington after a long illness. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and was active in the CWF. She was a native of Jessamine County, daughter of the late Christopher C. and Claudia Davis English. Survivors include three children, Charles Victor Robinson and his wife, Imogene, of Lexington, Kathleen Coffman of Lexington, and Janice Wells and her husband, Ray, of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren, V. Gene Robinson of New Hampshire, Karen Robinson of Lexington, Eric Coffman of Ohio, Marc and Jill Coffman, both of Lexington, Scott Wells of Florida, and Laura Neff of Nicholasville; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Jones of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. James Linn and the Rev. James Elliott officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. ROGERS, DORA ADAMS
Mrs. Dora Adams Rogers, 86, widow of W. P. Rogers, died at 1:45 p.m. April 10, (1966), at the Victory Nursing Home in Nicholasville. She was a member of the High Bridge Penecostal Church. Survivors include three sons, Rufus Rogers, Nicholasville, with whom she made her home, George Rogers, High Bridge, and Goebel Rogers, Cincinnati, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Guyn, Kurtz, and Hager Funeral Home by the Rev. P. D. Reed. Burial was in the family cemetery in Scott County. Pallbearers were Robert Rogers, Robert S. Rogers, James L. Smith, Larry Smith, Cecil R. Montgomery and Fred Fisher.

ROSE, H. W.
H. W. Rose, a former merchant tailor of Nicholasville, died at the home of his son, David B. G. Rose, Louisville, April 28, 1909, aged 69 years. The remains were taken to Cincinnati for interment. He was a member of the Masonic order and served a short time in the Federal army. He removed from Nicholasville about twelve years ago to Elwood, Ind., where his son, Charles Mann Rose, had taken up his residence, and of late, he had been in declining health, but his death was rather sudden. ROSS, JAMES
James Ross, a well-known citizen of Nicholasville, died at his home on Mulberry Street, Tuesday night (Dec. 19, 1911) of locomotor ataxia, aged 79. Mr. Ross had been practically an invalid for the past several years, and his death was not entirely unexpected, as his condition grew more critical several days ago. His five children were at his bedside when death came. His children are: Messrs. Jas. P. Ross of Lexington; Mrs. John Carr, Mrs. David Welch and Mrs. Tankersely, and Joseph Ross, of Nicholasville, and Mrs. James Reynolds, of Danville. Mr. Ross came to America when a young man, and was for many years a resident of Danville, KY. He was married twice; his second wife having died only a few years ago. He moved from Danville to Nicholasville, and for a number of years conducted an extensive ice business here. He is also survived by several grandchildren. The funeral services were held at St. Luke's Catholic Church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. The remains were interred in Maple Grove Cemetery.

ROSS, MARY DONLAN
Nicholasville The body of Mrs. Mary DONLAN/ROSS, 63, wife of James P. ROSS, manager of the Havre de Grace race track in Maryland, who died at her home July 11, (1946) was brought to Lexington, Saturday for interment in Calvary Cemetery. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, J.P. ROSS, jr., of Maryland; a sister, Mrs. C.A. MOBES/MOYBES, of Versailles; a brother, J. E. DONLAN, of Lexington, and two grandchildren. Mr. ROSS is a native of Nicholasville and the family is well known here.

ROSS, MARY FOX
Mrs. Mary Fox Ross, wife of James Ross, died suddenly at her home in Nicholasville, Thursday morning, April 4, 1907, of intestinal obstruction. She had been complaining since Monday of feeling unwell, but it was not thought her ailment was of a serious nature. The deceased was born in Ireland 63 years ago. She came to this country when a little girl, with her parents, who located at Danville. Her mother, Mrs. Bridget Fox, now resides in Danville. Mrs. Ross is survived by her husband and three children; Mrs. John Carr and Will Ross, Danville, and James Ross, Jr., Lexington. Mrs. Wm. Tankersley, Mrs. David Welch, Mrs. J. J. Reynolds and Joseph Ross are step-children of the deceased. Mrs. Ross was a good woman, kind and charitable, and ever ready to help those in distress. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Catholic church this morning at 9 0’clock.

RUTHERFORD, PRUDEN
Miss Pruden Rutherford, daughter of the late Joseph Rutherford, died at the home of Riley Rutherford, Union Mills, Dec. 12, 1914, aged 60. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the residence, Rev. G. W. Nutter officiating, followed by interrment in Maple Grove cemetery.
